These black and white digital images are a result of my experience in making a transition from film to digital. At the beginning of the digital age, with a Fuji S2 Pro digital camera which utilizes my old Nikon lenses and Adobe Photoshop for the computer, I started photographing flowers as a way to learn about digital photography, and after a while became fascinated with the inner workings of the flowers and purchased a new 105mm Macro Lens for the camera.
About a year into photographing the beautiful colors and shapes of the flowers, it suddenly occurred to me that the photographs were nothing more than pretty color pictures of flowers. Then, the magic wonders of Photoshop began to come into being. After another year of learning Photoshop and manipulating images, I looked back over my life's work and realized I preferred black and white photography and began working toward converting the hundreds of color flower photos to monochrome.
